The health care system in this country really upsets me. It's all about money, and everything is crazy expensive. I went for a check up recently - the co-pay was $20, so it wasn't bad. Without insurance, it would have been $240 - and that would have been for a 30 minute visit where I probably talked to the doctor for around 5 minutes. That basically encourages people not to see a doctor and to stay sick, infecting other people.

The big push in medicine today is preventative care. If people can get preventative care then they won't cause skyrocketing emergency room costs. With more people insured and getting preventative care we can reduce the total cost of health care to our society and improve overall health.
